A fuzzy Christmas sweater nail art with Emily of LadyCrappo.com + interview

In our last post, you met Sae Carter, now meet Emily behind the infamous Tumblr nail blog, LadyCrappo.com

She considers herself an art, science and book nerd - and likes to experiment and make nail art that hasn’t been made before. Mission accomplished. We interviewed Emily and asked her to create a holiday-inspired nail design (below) with 'A Sparkly Staycation'.

(SL = SUGARLOOM ; LC= Emily of LadyCrappo.com

S: How long have you been doing nails?

LC: I did my first freehand nail art on February 23, 2013. I didn’t think I’d be any good at it—while I’ve always been artistic, I have a hereditary essential tremor. Somehow that hasn’t been as much of an issue as I thought it would be. I have complex ways of bracing my hands when I paint to compensate. Still crap at painting with my non-dominant hand, though.

S: What inspired you to do this particular design?

LC: For this design, I was inspired by the polish 'Fuzzy Sweater'.  I liked the idea of painting an actual fuzzy sweater using the polish, and added a matching scarf on my middle finger.  I finished it with a simple snowflake design and some polka dots.  I used all of the polishes in the Sparkly Staycation set.

SL: Your favorite color from the gift set?

LC:  Fuzzy Sweater

SL: Thoughts about the gift set?

LC: The gift set is a great mix of polishes for the holidays, with rich and glittery colors that pair perfectly.  There's a black jelly packed with silver and gold glitter (Black Tie Affair), a chunky holographic glitter topper (Snowflake Scandal), and-- my personal favorite-- a berry-colored textured polish with fine holographic sparkles (Fuzzy Sweater).  The bonus polish, Mistletoe, is a forest green shimmer that applies beautifully.
